If there is one word to describe Katie, it’s “caring.” Her entire ideology follows from that: listening, understanding, and communicating. One of Katie’s main goals while you’re in therapy with her is for you to know that you’re heard, safe and understood. Whether you’re 13 or 30, she understands that life can be difficult. It helps to have someone there for you during those times and she’ll be there for you and your family.
Before coming to Teen Therapy Center, Katie graduated with distinction from California State University, Northridge with her Masters Degree in Counseling. She quickly found her love for helping preteens to young adults with their unique challenges while working in a school setting and seeing these challenges firsthand. In addition to school adversity, Katie also has experience helping to improve relationships at home and facilitate healthy identity development. She supports clients in finding comfort and building confidence when working through feelings of anxiety, sadness, frustration and everything in-between. Katie’s ability to connect with and understand younger individuals makes her continued work in this area greatly fulfilling and enjoyable.
With the guiding principle that no two people are the same, Katie strives to nurture each client’s individual potential. Your time with Katie will be curated and collaboratively developed just for you, and you’ll know that you’re not just another client.
In her free time, Katie enjoys board games, hiking, and binge-watching her favorite shows.
Katie looks forward to meeting you and helping you live your best life!
